Albuquerque Pallets began with a simple observation and a bold decision: too many perfectly reusable pallets were ending up in landfills. We set out to change that — and in the process, built a company that serves hundreds of businesses across New Mexico.

Our Albuquerque Yard
Where thousands of pallets get a second life every week
Every year, millions of wooden pallets cycle through warehouses, distribution centers, and retail operations across New Mexico. The standard practice for decades has been to use a pallet once or twice, then throw it away. That approach wastes valuable lumber, fills up landfill space, and contributes to deforestation — all while businesses pay premium prices for new pallets they do not actually need.
Our founders saw this firsthand working in logistics and supply chain management in Albuquerque. Truckloads of structurally sound pallets were being hauled to the dump simply because no efficient system existed to collect, inspect, and redistribute them. The waste was staggering: an estimated 420 million pallets end up in U.S. landfills annually, representing over 30 million tons of wood.
Albuquerque Pallets was founded to close that gap. We created a streamlined process for collecting surplus pallets from businesses, inspecting and grading them, making necessary repairs, and putting them back into circulation. The result is a system that saves our customers money, reduces waste, and gives every pallet the longest possible useful life.
Headquartered at 4480 Anaheim Ave NE
And counting every single day
Through our recycling and repair programs
From Las Cruces to Santa Fe and beyond

Our facility on Anaheim Ave NE sits in the heart of Albuquerque's northeast industrial corridor, giving us quick access to I-25, I-40, and major distribution routes throughout the state. The location was chosen specifically for its proximity to the warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing operations that form the backbone of our customer base.
Inside, our warehouse is organized into distinct zones for receiving, inspection, repair, grading, and outbound staging. Each zone is designed around lean workflow principles that minimize handling and maximize throughput. Our repair stations are equipped with pneumatic nail guns, board cutters, and stringer replacement jigs that allow our team to refurbish a standard pallet in under five minutes.
The outdoor yard holds our active inventory of ready-to-ship pallets, organized by size and grade for fast order fulfillment. On any given day, we maintain between 5,000 and 12,000 pallets on-site, ensuring we can fulfill most orders within 24 hours. Our loading dock accommodates flatbed trailers and box trucks simultaneously, so pickups and deliveries run smoothly even during peak hours.
Our success comes down to the people who show up every day with a commitment to quality work and environmental responsibility. Here is who makes it happen.
Our yard crew is the engine of the operation. They receive incoming loads, sort pallets by size and condition, and stage inventory for inspection. These are experienced material handlers who can spot a structural defect at a glance and know the difference between a repairable pallet and one headed for reclamation. They process between 400 and 800 pallets daily depending on volume.
Our skilled repair technicians take damaged pallets and bring them back to working condition. They replace cracked or broken deck boards, reinforce weakened stringers, and drive nails flush to ensure safe handling. Each repairperson inspects their own work before assigning a grade. Their craftsmanship is what allows us to offer Grade A and B pallets from recycled stock with confidence.
Our drivers are the face of the company for many of our customers. They load, transport, and unload pallets across the Albuquerque metro and throughout New Mexico. They also handle free pickups of surplus pallets from customer sites. Route optimization keeps fuel costs down and ensures we can offer same-day delivery in the metro area for in-stock orders placed before noon.
Albuquerque is not just where we are located — it is why we exist. This city sits at the crossroads of I-25 and I-40, making it one of the most strategically important logistics hubs in the American Southwest. Goods flowing between California, Texas, Colorado, and Mexico pass through Albuquerque daily, and every one of those shipments rides on pallets.
The Duke City's growing economy has brought more warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing operations to the metro area in recent years. Companies like Amazon, FedEx, and Intel have major facilities here, and hundreds of smaller businesses rely on efficient logistics to serve their customers. That growth has increased the demand for affordable, reliable pallet supply — and that is exactly the gap we fill.
Albuquerque also has a strong culture of environmental awareness. From the Rio Grande bosque conservation efforts to the city's expanding recycling programs and the growing emphasis on sustainable business practices, Burqueños understand that economic growth and environmental responsibility must go together. Our business was built on that principle, and we are proud to operate in a community that shares our values.
The high desert climate here also works in our favor. Low humidity means stored pallets are less susceptible to mold and moisture damage, and the mild winters allow us to operate our outdoor yard year-round without weather-related shutdowns. It is an ideal environment for pallet storage, repair, and redistribution.
At the intersection of I-25 and I-40, we can reach any warehouse or distribution center in the metro area within 30 minutes. Statewide deliveries are routed through our GPS-optimized logistics system.
Albuquerque's industrial sector has grown steadily, with new warehouse and distribution facilities opening along the I-25 corridor, the Mesa del Sol development area, and the Westside industrial parks.
Low humidity and over 300 sunny days per year mean our outdoor pallet inventory stays dry, mold-free, and in excellent condition year-round — a natural advantage over operations in wetter climates.
We work with the Albuquerque Economic Development Department, the New Mexico Small Business Development Center, and local chambers of commerce to support business growth and sustainability initiatives.
Every step of our growth has been guided by the same principle: do more with less waste. Here is how we have evolved.
Albuquerque Pallets was founded with a straightforward but powerful idea: the pallet industry generates enormous waste, and most of it is entirely preventable. Our founders saw thousands of usable pallets headed to landfills every week across the Southwest and decided to build a business around the solution — not the problem.
Starting with a small pickup truck and a rented lot near the Albuquerque rail yards, we began collecting, sorting, and reselling pallets that other companies discarded. Word spread quickly among warehouse managers and logistics teams: this small outfit was selling quality pallets at a fraction of the price.
We expanded into a full-service operation at our current facility on Anaheim Ave NE. We invested in repair equipment, hired skilled woodworkers, and launched our recycling program. Our fleet grew to serve the entire Albuquerque metro area with same-day pickup and delivery.
Today we serve hundreds of businesses across New Mexico. We process tens of thousands of pallets every year, keeping the vast majority out of landfills. We have added custom manufacturing, furniture crafting, and a dedicated transportation team to offer complete pallet lifecycle management.
Our goal is to achieve a zero-waste pallet operation across New Mexico. We are investing in new sorting technologies, expanding our reach to underserved rural areas, and developing partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations throughout the state.
Values are only meaningful when they shape real decisions. These four principles guide how we operate, how we treat our partners, and how we measure success.
Every decision we make weighs its environmental impact first. We operate on the belief that business success and ecological responsibility are inseparable.
We grade pallets accurately, price fairly, and communicate openly. No hidden fees, no inflated claims — just straightforward business relationships built on trust.
We are Albuquerque through and through. We hire locally, source locally when possible, and reinvest in the neighborhoods and organizations that make this city strong.
We track our environmental metrics, listen to customer feedback, and constantly refine our processes. Better operations mean less waste and more value for our partners.
Being a locally owned business means our success is tied to the health of our community. We do not just operate in Albuquerque — we are invested in its future. Our team lives here, our families go to school here, and our neighbors are our customers.
We participate in local environmental cleanup initiatives, donate reclaimed pallet wood to community art and building projects, and partner with Albuquerque-area nonprofits focused on workforce development and job training. When local schools or community centers need materials for construction projects, we provide pallets at cost or free of charge.
We also work with small businesses throughout New Mexico to help them access affordable shipping materials. For startups and growing companies, the cost of new pallets can be a real burden. By offering quality recycled pallets at fair prices, we help level the playing field and support economic growth across the state.
Our community work extends beyond the pallet yard. We have donated reclaimed pallet wood to local makers and artists for the Albuquerque Rail Yards Market vendor booths, provided free pallets to Habitat for Humanity projects in Bernalillo County, and supported youth workforce development programs that teach woodworking and repair skills to young adults entering the trades. We also participate in the annual Albuquerque BioPark Conservation Day and contribute mulch from our wood chipping operations to community garden projects in the South Valley and International District.
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted supply chains and made new pallets scarce and expensive, we stepped up to provide affordable recycled pallets to local food banks and emergency distribution centers at no cost. That experience reinforced our belief that a locally rooted business has a responsibility to serve its community, especially in times of need.

Our values are not wall decorations -- they are operational guidelines that shape every decision, from how we price pallets to how we treat our drivers.
We publish our grading criteria, share our pricing methodology, and explain exactly how we determine pallet condition. When a pallet does not meet grade, we tell you why and offer alternatives. No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no bait-and-switch pricing. Our quotes include everything -- product, delivery, and applicable surcharges -- so you know the total cost before committing.
We track every piece of material that enters and leaves our facility. Quarterly environmental reports document our waste diversion rate, CO2 offset, water savings, and tree conservation metrics with verifiable data. We hold ourselves to a 95% waste diversion rate minimum and publish our results. When we fall short, we disclose it and explain the corrective action.
Every dollar our customers spend stays in the local economy. We hire locally, source locally when possible, and reinvest in Albuquerque through community partnerships, material donations, and workforce development programs. Our success is tied to the health of the community we serve, and we take that responsibility seriously.
We systematically track every aspect of our operation -- from repair times to delivery accuracy to customer satisfaction. Each quarter, we identify the three areas with the most room for improvement and dedicate resources to advancing them. Last year, this process reduced our average quote response time from 6 hours to under 3 hours and improved our on-time delivery rate from 88% to 92%.
